Neuropsychological Evaluations
Neuropsychological evaluations vary in complexity. At Heritage, we offer some limited neuropsychological testing such as assessment of memory functioning of children, adolescents and adults. We can assess different kinds of memory such as visual memory, auditory memory, rote memory, and memory for material which is learned in a general context such as stories or longer pieces of text. We also can measure working memory, a specific kind of memory functioning. It’s like RAM memory on a computer.
We also can measure attention, concentration, intelligence and achievement. We can assess for mental flexibility associated with frontal lober functioning. But for the more complex kinds of neuropsychological evaluations designed to detect other kinds of functional brain impairments, we refer our assessments out to neuropsychologists in the Chicagoland area.
