About Athena Kakolires

Athena Kakolires is a Doctoral Therapy Extern who specializes in the treatment of individuals across the lifespan. Her clinical interests include mood and anxiety disorders, grief and loss, spirituality, trauma, and life transitions. She has previous experience providing diagnostic testing and individualizing treatment recommendations with teenagers and adults struggling with a variety of disorders including trauma, eating concerns, psychosis, suicidal ideation, and self-harm. She also has experience as an Applied Behavioral Analysis therapist. For two years, Athena has conducted direct therapy sessions with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder to facilitate client development and fulfill their needs. Athena believes in a holistic therapeutic approach. She desires to form meaningful relationships with her clients to emphasize growth and encourage positive change. Athena is currently completing her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology.
