About Michaela Schurr
Michaela earned her B.A. in Psychology from Taylor University and her M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Wheaton College. She brings experience working with clients across the lifespan, with a particular passion for supporting children and adolescents. Her two years of experience working in a school setting with elementary, middle, and high school students has provided her with a deeper understanding of the unique emotional, social, and academic challenges young people face.
Michaela believes that attachment, belonging, and feeling understood are foundational to growth and can powerfully increase confidence and self-steem. Michaela tailors her approach to each client’s individual needs and concerns and may be particularly well suited for those experiencing anxiety, depression, life transitions, executive functioning difficulties, school-related challenges, adoption-related concerns, and those who may benefit from play therapy.
In her free time, Michaela loves spending time with friends, her mom, her dog, and any fluffy animal she can find. She enjoys traveling, cooking, watching a good movie or TV show, being active outdoors, and occasionally getting lost in a good book.
