An ideal candidate would be able to provide psychotherapy services to children, adolescents, and adults and/or do psychological testing.  Serious consideration will be given to candidates who have a clinical niche (children, couples, trauma, DBT/ACT, EMDR, assessment, etc.) and are willing to market themselves to grow their referral base and professional standing in the community.  Highly skilled testing psychologists are also encouraged to apply.  

  • · Current State of Illinois license/eligible as a PhD, PsyD, LCPC, LCSW, or LMFT 

    · Willing to work 15 clinical hours per week or more

    · Demonstrated interest in one or more of the specialty areas mentioned above

    · Prior private practice experience is a plus

Doctoral Student Clinicians (“Moonlighters”) 

If you are a doctoral student seeking high quality supervised therapy experience and to be paid for this work, we encourage you to apply for a position on our clinical team!

We are actively seeking doctoral student clinicians to join our clinical team, with a strong preference for those who are able to work evenings and/or Saturdays and  in both our Wheaton and Hinsdale locations.

  • Student clinicians will be compensated at $35 per session and would be required to have at least 6 sessions/week; these sessions would be held at either our Wheaton or Hinsdale location. During COVID19, some clients may also be seen via telehealth; this is dependent on ongoing insurance coverage of telehealth (and is subject to change or may not be covered by all BCBS PPO policies).

    For doctoral student clinicians who have a minimum weekly caseload of 6 clients, Heritage will provide weekly supervision from a licensed clinical psychologist at no additional cost to the student clinician.

    Some doctoral students may wish to also have this clinical experience count towards their practicum training experiences (i.e. Supplemental Practicum). If so, the student is responsible to obtain information from their doctoral program regarding their program’s specific requirements for supplemental practicum and should forward this information to Dr. Sandy Kruse for consideration and approval. If this employment experience can count for a supplemental practicum experience, this would not impact the student clinician’s ability to be compensated for this work.

Psychometrists/Psychometricians

If you are a doctoral student seeking high quality supervised testing experiences and to be paid for this work, we encourage you to apply for a position with our Heritage Diagnostic and Assessment Center team! Under guidance by a licensed psychologist, the Psychometrist or Psychometrician provides neuropsychological assessment for pediatric, young adult and adult clientele. These positions are compensated at $25-35/hr, depending on their role. 

  • · Administers and scores paper and pencil and computer based neuropsychological and psychological tests under the direction of a licensed clinical psychologist.

    · Test batteries include assessment of psychological, personality functioning and neuropsychological abilities (learning, memory, intelligence, attention and concentration, executive functioning, language, visual/spatial abilities, sensorimotor).

    · Responsible for obtaining accurate and reliable results, recording behavioral observations and data into an electronic medical record and maintaining a standardized and valid testing environment.

    · Maintains good communication with their licensed psychologist supervisor through all aspects of the testing process and adheres to documentation requirements.

    · Completes other duties under the direction of the Director of the Heritage Diagnostic and Assessment Center.

    · The Psychometrician role also includes opportunities to assist with the conceptualization and writing of the case in collaboration with, and under the supervision of, their licensed psychologist supervisor.

Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in the following fields: Psychology, Social Work, Sociology, Education or related field; Either enrolled in doctoral program in psychology and have completed requisite assessment coursework or is certified in Psychometry (CSP). 

Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in Clinical Psychology; Experience in Neuropsychology, Psychology or Psychoeducational Assessment; An advanced understanding of the administration and scoring of neuropsychological/psychological assessment measures; good organizational skills.

Psychometricians would be hired as an employee (not independent contractor).  Schedule is flexible; Saturday or Sunday hours are available.
